なんだか、梅雨入りも間近な天気が続きますね。
ジメジメしているので、小川から迷い出来てきたアメリカザリガニと遭遇。

イギリスよりヤツェックさん再来訪、またまた線路をくぐっていただき、様々な話題で話は尽きず、あっという間に時間が経ってしまいました。

ありがたいことに、お土産いただいてしまいました。
イギリスで手に入るお国の食材。
ポーランドのメーカーが出している、ケバプ味のシーズニング、次の鶏肉料理に使ってみたいと思います。
トルコのケバブはポーランドでも人気なのですね、しかもそのポーランド製調味料がイギリスのスーパーマーケットで買えるというなんともグローバル。
オレンジのチョコレートは娘が大喜び、ジンジャーブレッドも生姜の風味が豊かで美味しかったです。

そう言えば、寝台列車カシオペアで利用していた客車が６月いっぱいで用途廃止になると、北斗星が終わってから10年も経ってますので、仕方がないですね。
たまたまXで話題になっていたので、確認したら6/3はカシオペア紀行の秋田ツアーの戻りが早朝の蕨を通過します。たぶんこれが早朝の上り寝台列車蕨通過のラストになるのが判明。夕方着はまだ2回くらいあります。
カシオペア自体は2016の3月12日に定期運行は廃止になり、たまに団体列車として運行されていましたが、撮ったことはなかったです。

別に撮らなくても良いやと思いながらも、なんとなく見送らないと後悔しそうだったので、雨の蕨駅へ。
5時台には貨物列車が何本も通りますね。EH200、EH500ばかりです。

列車接近警報灯や雑草の茂りで昔のように撮れなくなってましたが、あえてココでお見送りしました。
こんな場所ですけど、同業2,3人いました。もう少しマシな場所あるでしょうに、と向こうも思ったでしょう。
上越線を通ってくるので、EF64-1031と重連ですね。ヘッドマークも無いし雨だし大敗北のラストですけど、見に行って良かった。

Thank you so much for your hospitality and the lovely gifts! The time flew by so quickly and it felt like it was minutes instead of hours. I’m hoping next time you can visit me. My visits to Japan are always super active and memorable and so was this one. Before I left I have treated myself to E655 by Kato as I really love the colour and the shape of it. As always I have spent too much on rail models and now I have to eat instant noodles till my next paycheck!

PS. When I sent you a picture from the “bring your own lunch car” at the Railway museum with the blurred background I told my wife you would be able to guess our location. She said that it was impossible to which I replied “Demobird-sama is a man of many talents and he really does know his trains 🚂🚃🚃🚃”. Of course I was right and she was really impressed!!

I spent the last 5 months decorating and refurbishing a newly purchased house. Collectively with my wife we decided that we need some rest and found some really cheap tickets to Japan. We simply couldn’t resist!! If I can do it and travel 11000 km I’m sure you can as well! It’s a matter of motivation so grab the phone and call Demobird-sama.

Thank you for your reply and best wishes of good luck to your son! I remember my university application as a very stressful process. I studied politics and graduated with masters degree. The application was more stressful than having a surgery but I got really lucky with the questions.

No E655 is complete without the Emperor’s car. So I got it. Probably the most expensive non motorised car I ever got but it was so worth it!
